There isn’t however, an abundance of material stating that it is best to find the guitar that is best for you and your style of playing. The two main and distinct differences you are sure to find when searching for a guitar, is the timeless battle against Fender and Gibson. They are both great guitars with very distinct sounds, but how you are to know which of the two are best for you?
Many people find that there is already an abundance of information online concerning their favorite guitarist. If you look at a Wikipedia or other online resources about your favorite guitarist you are likely to find information about what they played. This is the easiest way to get some progress on your research. Most people know what they like based on their musical influences and favorite bands. There is a distinct difference in many guitarists tone and sound, which usually begins with which guitar they were known for playing. While some guitarist play a variation of guitars, you can still get the general idea of which tone they went for.

The Gibson line of guitars is usually known for having a thicker and heavier tone, as do the other models and variations available from Gibson.
The purchase of a guitar is something that can last a lifetime. It is best to take your time to ensure that the instrument you are buying is exactly what you are looking for and exactly what you desire in your instrument. There is more to it than just tone, but also the way that the guitar feels in your hands. Sometimes it’s the shape of the neck and the weight of the guitar; shape of the body style. If you are someone that plays different styles of music than you might want to consider having more than just one pickup so you can adjust your tone to different styles guitar playing. In short its not the guitar is the best that you are looking for, it is the guitar that is best for you. There is an abundance of online resources available for you to find the guitar of your dreams but nothing is quite as good as playing different guitars and finding what best fits you and your playing style. Be sure to take your time when shopping for an instrument as it is something that can last a lifetime. There is nothing more gratifying as a musician to play an instrument that just seems to mold with your hands and playing style each and every time you play it.
