Honolulu: A Taste of Hawaiian Flair Share/Save/Bookmark

The island of Hawaii is an archipelago surrounded by a body of water. Lots of tourists from all over the world flock Hawaii especially during summer season to bask in the sun and marvel at the natural wonders of Hawaii. Hawaii is definitely the best place to stay if a tropical climate, a gorgeous vacation and a splendid summer destination is what you have in mind. Hawaii is a beach junkies paradise, a perfect honeymoon getaway and a dream wedding venue all rolled into one.

Honolulu is Hawaii’s capital situated in the heart of Hawaii. Its name comes from the Hawaiian word that means sheltered bay” or as some may say bay of shelter”. The city of Honolulu gets an ample share of attention because this is the place where American President Barack Obama was born. Honolulu is Hawaii’s busiest city because it has the governmental, business and financial hub of the beautiful island. Waikiki is the most famous district in Honolulu for it houses thousands of hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and other spots for tourist.

Waikiki beach is now seemed to be the best and famous beach in the Honolulu, Hawaii. It boasts of its magnificent picturesque view of an equally well known tourist attraction. Hawaii’s the Diamond Head. Waikiki beach is ideal to be a surfer’s haven though it is sometimes known to have long lolling periods of surf waves making it good for beginning surfers and surf waders. Waikiki beach is also found to have a sea bottom which is rocky.

The Honolulu Theatre open for the youth that has talented you performers present adaptations of the “Musubi Man” a local Hawaiian tale for children which are actually the classic story of the “Gingerbread Man”. The Musubi Man is a tale of how a rice cake shaped young boy having a heart that is made out of takuan, a nori jacket and a red ginger mouth came off running so as not to be consumed by the taro owner’s wife.

The story told of the rice cake boys adventure as he sets off running out of his maker so as not to be eaten. He was set to an adventure where he met a radical surfer also determined to eat him. The story ended with its usual Hawaiian flair.
