Adding value to a property is something anyone in their right mind would want to do when it comes to selling it. Landscaping the garden and surrounds of a property could be a decent way of helping to achieve this.

Although there are some very skilled gardeners out there, usually landscaping would be the area where specialist contractors step in. Hopefully bringing there years of experience to your garden project but all the expensive equipment and machinery that is required to do the job, along with their inevitable discounts at gardening retailers.

You have a dream of what you would like your landscaped garden to look like, what features would you like to see in it?

Water landscaping or water features are very popular, whether it is a pond, fountain or something else of that ilk. Obviously with ponds and other such water features a degree of excavation work is normally involved and this is best handled by expert professionals.

Gates and arches are also very popular features in a well designed and landscaped garden. Most landscapers also consider fencing as part of their repertoire. There is much to consider in the design to get the balance of your garden just right and to ensure it extracts every ounce of its potential. Why not liaise with a landscaping expert to discuss all the possibilities?

Gardens of course come in many different shapes and sizes and often in an array of colours but here in the UK especially, the predominant colour is green due to the temperate climate. Shrubs, trees and lawns form a huge percentage of a typical British garden so the arranging and planting of these is another essential tool the landscaping expert brings to the table.

Concrete patios or block paving weaving in and out of lawns and foliage, winding through shrubs and trees leading to a garden bench beside a fish filled pond.

The experts will be able to tell you which trees will suit your particular garden and whether your ground is suitable for certain species of shrubs and trees. Knowing how quickly the plants and trees grow, which nutrients they need and how much light they need are all considerations that the landscaping experts will be able to advise you with.

It is probably wise to ask to see a landscapers current portfolio of work before hiring, as this will give you an idea of what they can do and their standards. If you are struggling to express and share your own ideas with your gardener then often books and magazines can come to your rescue and the gardener will get a good idea of what you mean from things you point out.

It is only when you have your ideas and plans in place and have discussed them with your chosen landscaping company that you can assess the cost and most efficient ways of achieving your gardening goals.
