Today, many of us get movie rentals at least a few times a month. Normally they wait for the DVD to come out, in preference to seeing the film at the cinema. Here is a short list of some of the most popular DVD rentals in October 2008.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) returns to action, after a 19 year break. This is the latest film of the exploits of the infamous Indiana Jones. In this, the latest adventure, An older Indiana takes on the Russians. Now, the chase is on for some South American relics, and the powers they might possess.
THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Ex con Ben Garvey is a new man now. With a beauitiful wife and daughter, and steady paycheck, he seems to have found a better life. Then, he unexplicably loses his steady paycheck, and he turns to crime for the solution. This goes terribly wrong, and he is convicted, and sentenced to die. He is sent to die. To his surprise, he isn’t dead, but is in a mental hospital. He now struggles for his sanity, and his spritual well being.
LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Eventually, his past is about to catch up with him. He grew up in a viscious L.A. gang, but he had the courage to leave. When an unfortunate meeting shows where he lives to a member of his old gang, he finds himself in grave danger. He nust put it all on the line, and ensure that the gang can get a huge illegal drug delivery across the border.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the tale of Military scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who, because of a gamma ray experiment gone bad, as been changed into the Incredible Hulk. The movie is based on the comic legend, the Hulk. This movie stars Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, and Liv Tyler. The director is Louis Leterrier. The film style is sci-fi/action-thriller.
DECEPTION: Audiitor for the elite, Jonathan McQuarry has a surprising meeting with corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. It is a meeting that sends his life in a whole new direction. He is exposed to “The List”, which puts you in front of access to a sexual indulgance. But, he is driven into a scene full of deceipt, underhandidness and murder.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Trying to find his missing brother, professor Trevor Anderson goes on a mission that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is another version of the 1959 production, which was based on the classic novel by renowned author Jules Verne. Directed by eric brevig, and starring Brendan Fraser.
THE HAPPENING: Confused and frightened, teacher Elliot Moore, with his wife, and Julian, with his daughter Jess are leaving Philadelphia by train. Philadelphia has been thrown into chaos. Many people are being overcome by some strange illness, and are commiting suicide. Can mankind solve this dilemma, or are we witnessing the final acts of man on this planet?
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark is attacked and taken by Afghan insurgents. He is ordered to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He sustained injuries when he was abducted, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To save his life from this injury, and break away from his enemies, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.
SPEED RACER: A comic, turned TV anime, gets real actors. Much like the film The Flinstones, Speed Racer chages a cartoon to a movie with an actual cast. Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a very dangerous race that had cost his brother his life. With odds against him, and risking it all, he partners up with his enemy of the past, Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, so the family business won’t go under.
