Attract New Customers And Make Money With Blogs Share/Save/Bookmark

Anyone that has spent more than 5 miutes browsing the web has certainly come accross large businesses that are using blogs. Now is the perfect time to start you own blog! Folks who browse the web to buy stuff love reading a company’s blog as they feel like they are getting to know the person behind the company. A simple website often appears stagnent so the added interactiveness of a blog really appears to people online.

Take an e-commerce site for example, you will notice that most are hardly updated at all? How often do you update your website, I bet it’s only a few times a year! That’s simply not enough when it comes to out ranking your competitors in the search engines (e.g. Google) and giving your potential customers a reason to come back to your site (which is always nice).

And lets be honest, we’re much rather likely to come back to a fluid, ever changing blog than we are a stagnant e-commerce site. Believe it or not, our customers like to get insights into the company they are buying from. Don’t slam the corporate door in your cusomters face, open it and invite them in with a blog. With your blog, you will also most likely rank high in Google. Since your content is always updating, the spiders will come by more often. The fist thing you want to make sure of is that Google is noticing your blog and indexing you often.

As we all know, before a sale is made, we must ensure that we gain trust. Blogs are the best way to win this confidence and trust as we encourage them to contribute and feel envolved. By allowing potential customers to comment on our blogs, we encourage ‘buy in’ from the user, which of course results in sales for us.

You can start to think of your blog like a magnet. While there are many different sites out there that are competing with yours, none of them will have the personality and feel of your blog. It attracts the engines and it attracts people. These people will turn into customers if they like what they see!

Hopefully you’re convinced that starting a blog is definitely a good thing. The next step for you is deciding on how to get started! Many companies make their blog an extension of the website. For example, you might have comanyname.com/blog. This works well because people can associate it with your main site, but it’s able to stand on its own as well.

So now you know where to put your blog, now comes the important part - content. You need to someone create some buzz around your product or products. As an example, you can run contests where you give something away to the person who creates the most inventive comment. These kind of contests are great as they will surely create some buzz for you, but you must also make your posts informative about where you company is headed.

People ask me what’s the most important thing to do when creating a blog, I always answer the same…give it a voice. Write it as if you are talking to a friend and you will be sure to attract tons of new customers.
