Solaire Shines Brightly In The Grilling World Share/Save/Bookmark

Solaire grills, believe it or not, have their roots with Rasmus Rasmussen, a Danish immigrant who founded a blacksmith shop in 1907, now known as Rasmussen Iron Works, Inc. Whittier, California was now in the grilling game.

Rasmussen began with fancy fireplace tools and screens, evolving and changing with the times. His company would also go on to create truck body parts, steel buildings, welding rod handles for WWII.

Ted Rasmussen, his son, branched off again with a retail store promoting gas logs for fireplaces. Along these lines, he invented a “sand pan burner” allowing for a realistic looking flame for his gas logs. He had to invent the means for manufacturing these as well. Currently, the fourth generation of Rasmussens carry the business forward with diverse product offerings like uniquely shaped gas “logs” that look like stones or balls, gas log heaters and Solaire Infrared grills.

Infrared is best for grilling with the Solaire line because the Rasmussen family and company have duplicated the open flame, the oldest form of cooking known to man. The redder a flame, the more infrared spectrum is being produced by the flame. With infrared moisture is retained within the food, making it succulent and flavor-tight. Molecules are excited within the food that you are preparing, allowing the friction from this movement to produce the heat. This is an even, radiant, heat over the entire cooking surface, with no hot spots or flare-ups to worry about. In a fraction of the time it takes to cook over a regular charcoal grill, you can have a complete meal prepared and ready to eat with your friends or family.

Solaire grills come with a number of standard features. 1) Enclosed storage compartment, 2) a removable warming rack, 3) side shelves, 4) hand polished mirror finish accents, rapid start igniter and 5) welded construction.

Their portable model is called the Solaire Anywhere. It has folding legs and adjustable feet and it’s also airtight, so nothing will leak out in transport. The Anywhere is also offered with a mounting kit so you can make it work in any setting. It has complete access from the back where the burners can be removed. You can also use the rear louvers to increase airflow. It comes with a carry case to make transport easier.

Of course, the larger grills are what it’s all about, ranging in size from 27″ to 56″. They operate with a large temperature range for cooking just about anything. One model even boasts a refrigerator.

The Solaire grills implement a wavelength engineering which allows for directly applied infrared energy that is more effective than other infrared grills.

You’ll find Solaire grills at outlets such as Amazon.com, Aqua Superstore, Sports Imports and Northline Express.
