No matter what sport you enjoy, chances are there is a backpack made especially for you. For instance, special backpacks are made for hikers, runners, cyclists, snowboarders, skiers, and even for archers. In fact, backpacks have gotten so specific that you can find several different types among todays archery equipment.

Take, for example the recurve bow backpack–there are several different companies making them but how do you know how they differ from each other and which one is right for you? When choosing archery equipment, you want to get the best quality you can afford. Recurve bow backpacks all have the same purpose–to allow you to carry your bow, arrows, and a days worth of supplies while bowhunting or target shooting. Yet different manufacturers make these packs out of different materials and with a variety of options.

When selecting a recurve bow backpack, comfort has to be at the top of the list. You and your backpack will be spending many hours together in both good and inclement weather. You want a good fit with no rubbing. They key to look for here is straps that are easily adjustable. You also want the pack to be made of materials that can withstand whatever mother nature can throw at it. That is one reason to look for heavy-duty, ballistic nylon. It should be both water repellant and abrasion resistant.

Other features to look for are shock absorption and a removable case for limbs and riser. You should be able to keep your arrows handy in a special tube on the side. The key to a good archery or hunting backpack is lots of room whether you need a place to stash a change of clothing or you need a variety of small compartments and storage areas for small items like bug spray, sun screen, or a flashlight.

Because hunters are outside moving around all day, a good recurve bow backpack will have space for air to move around between you and the pack. This air system can make a big difference on hot days. The more comfortable you are, the better chance you will have of making a good shot when the time is right.

No matter what type of archery you have chosen, hunting or target competition, your recurve bow backpack needs will not vary greatly. You will want comfort, storage room, functionality, and materials that are made to both withstand tough weather conditions, and last for a long time. If you are an organizer, you will be attracted to countless little, zippered compartments. Whatever your level of archery experience, get a backpack that will lend itself to helping you enjoy being out in the field.
