I meet folk all the time who need to play the piano so badly. Customarily they are newbies but occasionally they are people who have not played in years and just need to start again. When I see them a pair months later, you would think the piano was their kryptonite.
It’s dazzling to me the way in which the same person might be so happy about something and a pair months later not desiring anything to do with the same. And when you ask them what occurred, they customarily say they became bored.
They most likely predicted everything to be as simple as pie. Becoming better at playing the piano takes time. You will not expect to start playing impressive pieces on the piano and you can hardly play a chord. Many of us think that they can just “wing it” on the piano.
You can do this but it is always good to understand what you try to accomplish. I am not talking about understanding how to read notation. I am simply chatting about knowing what the notes are on the piano, knowing chords or at least the way to make a chord. You must at least know all your major and minor chords in each key. You do not want to be an one dimensional piano player.
By learning these things, you are at an advantage when it comes time to learn the more difficult things.
I am not talking about bi-daily or fifteen minute daily. I believe you need to put aside at least forty five mins to an hour just dedication to practice time.
I believe you need to put aside at least forty five mins to an hour just dedication to practice time. Even if you assert you are busy, there are too many hours in a day not to have forty five mins open. Your piano abilities will be tremendously influenced by your decision to make practice time.
