Rafting on the rivers around Nova Scotia can be very different to the rafting we find in the United States of America. Nova Scotia rafting is unique in that down its rivers there can be places where tidal waves can form! At times it is even possible for waves as high as 16 feet to form around you.

If you are looking for a rush of adrenaline this is the place for you to go. Catching the highest tide will provide you with the most white water rafting fun in Nova Scotia. It is possible for the level of the river to rise up to 30 additional feet during the course of time you are rafting.

To say catching the top of these waves is exciting would be a complete understatement. However obviously it can be dangerous and for this reason a lot of rivers are not safe for children and or an experienced rafters.

A rapid hunt, finding the one that best suits your rafting

There are different rapids for different experience levels. Some rapids allow children to ride in the raft while others require previous white water experience.

You need not worry about not being able to find gentle enough rapids for your enjoyment and that of your family, you will find that there are already a whole range of different rafting trips in Nova Scotia prearranged for different skill levels.

Other more aggressive rapids are available for the novice rafter but require you to be at least 12 years of age. These rapids provide a lot of white water action as well as provide a scenic ride.

The truth is Nova Scotia rafting isn’t just for those more casual rafters, in fact Nova Scotia rafting can really bring something new to the table for the seasoned rafter. Rafting on tidal waves in Nova Scotia is something new, something that no seasoned rafter would have found in the US, so if you’re looking for something more, Nova Scotia is the place to go.

White water rafting in Nova Scotia can offer you a new and different experience for your nature-oriented outing. You can sightsee, relax and enjoy the ride or you can choose to hit the non-stop white water.
