Bakugan toys are increasing everyday in popularity among kids. These toys follow the concept of the same named animated series “Bakugan Battle Brawlers”, which is about some kids that discover the cards can be used to determine the fate of the universe by battling monsters from another dimension called Vestroia.
The toys were created through a joint effort between Sega Games and Spin Master, and sticks close to the story line of the animated series. The characters in the animated series are also featured on many of the cards in the game just like the toys, which are exploding spheres that activate once they roll over a gate card placed on the field.
As well as the games that came earlier like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, it is also a card game that is as collectible as it is addictive. The basic concept of the game is to roll a sphere out on the field across the cards to get it to pop open. Even though the cards are collectible, it is the toy spheres that kids are after. There are over 75 different kinds at this point, with more being added to the collection with the rise of the games popularity.
The rules to the game are extremely simple, and very easy for any kid to understand if they are familiar with the cartoon. The players will alternate laying down their gate cards on the field, and then take turns rolling their Bakugan out onto the field to try and stand it on the cards. If they don’t land on a card it is the other players turn. If the same player is able to land two of the spheres on a card, then the card is captured by that player and taken off of the field. If each player gets one of his battle brawler on the same card then they have to battle for it.
Next the players need to turn over the occupied gate card, and add together the G points on the gate card to the G points of each sphere and determine who wins by following the instructions on the card. The winner takes possession of the gate card and the Bakugan on it. The player that is able to take control of three gate cards first is the winner of the match.
The game is very simple, and is very fun. Different rule variation can be applied to the game also. Other items can be purchased as well to get the most out of the Bakugan games experience, such as the battle brawler shooters and the battle arena. The basic rules for the battle arena are a little bit different, but the game can be played however both parties agree to play it.
