Hemorrhoids are formed when blood pressure becomes too much for the blood vessel to handle. People of any age can get hemorrhoids, even toddlers. Hemorrhoids in toddlers or any young child can be a very painful and emotionally straining experience. Symptoms include pain in and around the anus, bleeding, burning and itching. If you notice that your toddler has blood coming out of the anal canal you should get them to a doctor as soon as possible even if you think that the child has hemorrhoids because there is always a chance that it could in fact be a different illness.

No one wants to get hemorrhoids and they are even worse for children than for adults. This is mainly because children dont know how to deal with having a hemorrhoid emotionally and they can also sustain long term physical damage to their bodies. Constipation is the leading cause of hemorrhoids in toddlers and as such toddlers it should be avoided at all costs. If constipation can be avoided in toddlers its likely hemorrhoids will be also.

If your toddler shows signs of being constipated you should talk to your doctor and get them a stool softener quickly. To ensure that your child never gets constipated you can also do a couple of other things. Firstly, make sure they get plenty of fiber in their diet (from fruit and veges) and that they drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day. They should also keep very active to ensure metabolism is functioning well ” this will further help prevent constipation.

Dealing With Hemorrhoids in Toddlers

If your toddler has got hemorrhoids, try to control the pain as much as possible. Keep using the preventative measures mentioned above (water, exercise and fiber) as these will not only aid in recovery but also reduce pain. There are a few other things that can be done to minimize discomfort which I will now explain.

Use a damp cloth or extra soft toilet paper to clean the anal area ” sometimes medicated pads can be soothing or a damp warm cloth. Keep it as clean as possible to avoid irritation and infection.

Apply Aloe Vera gel to the hemorrhoids to reduce the burning and stinging pains associated with the hemorrhoids. Avoid having your child sitting or standing for long periods of time as this increases the blood pressure in the blood vessels around the anal canal which can lead to further damage and prevent proper healing.

To further relieve hemorrhoid pain, give your child a sitz bath in warm water twice daily. Also apply ice (wrapped in a towel) to the anus. This will help numb the pain and also reduce blood flow to the hemorrhoid which will in fact reduce the size of the hemorrhoid.

For fast effective hemorrhoid treatment and pain relief a guide called H Miracle is fantastic. It has been used to help thousands of adults, and children worldwide. H Miracle is a natural hemorrhoids cure that is perfect for children as it has no negative side effects that come with so many over the counter chemical based products.
