It’s no mystery that the Nintendo Wii has been selling like mad - it’s one hot system! With so many new users, we seem to be getting a good number of emails from people wondering if there is a way to copy Wii games. With this is mind, we decided to throw together a quick guide showing you how to do this.
Almost everyone with a computer has used their burner their burner before. “Ripping” music CDs is extremely common - there’s a good chance you have done this before. However, you can’t use the same software that you use to burn a music cd to make a copy of a video game.
Why is that?
All video game discs are equipped with a type of protection that prevents your computer from being able to produce copies. The companies that make video games have developed these “copyright guards” so that your computer can’t recognize the discs - this prevents it from being able to make a copy.
When there’s a problem, someone’s going to find a solution! That’s exactly what certain software companies have done - there are now programs that are able to “punch-out” the guards on video games. When you install this software, your computer is able to read the data that is on video game discs.
One quick point - these programs can copy xbox 360, PS3 and any other video games that are on discs. It’s not only for making Wii game copies.
We did put a link at the bottom of this article where you can find out how to get a free trial of this type of software.
Once it’s installed on your computer it’s extremely easy to use. You insert the original Wii game you want copied and let your computer produce an “image” of the disc on it’s hard drive. You then put in a blank disc and the computer will transfer the image onto it - this gives you a perfect copy.
With this type of software it’s easy to copy Wii games whenever you get a new one. It’s always a nice option to have and it’s incredibly convenient since you get do right from your home computer. One warning though - it’s addictive!
