Within three years of starting to market Clickbank affiliate products, Dylan Loh has a six-figure per month income. One of the keys to his success is to not focus on selling Internet marketing products.
As part of Dan Kennedy’s Info Riches course Rob Toth interviewed Dylan for the “Future Of Information Marketing” audio series. Several top Information marketers were interviewed for this program.
According to Dylan the market for selling Internet marketing products is getting to be really crowded and very competitive. The problem will only get worse as more and more people discover that it is possible to make good money on the Internet.
“The pie is definitely big enough” to handle more people, but “with three or four launches in the same week and sometimes in the same day it’s increasingly competitive”, says Dylan.
Dylan says “it’s relatively easier in non-Internet-marketing niches“. There are lots of good niche products to sell in Clickbank if you look real hard. “My philosophy is that I always get them (new clients) to start off in other niches then it’s easier to enter and get the feel of it”, says Dylan. Once they have some success in these niches they can always go back to the Internet marketing niche.
When people become interested in doing business online they start looking for information about it on the Internet. They sign up for some free information and get on lists where they are pummelled with offers to buy Internet marketing products over and over again. The reason this happens is because they have identified that they are interested in receiving information on the subject of Internet marketing.
But that’s where a lot of people get stuck. They might venture out in some other niche for a short time, but they are being pulled back into the Internet marketing niche because that’s what they are consuming. “There are so many other niches that no one is paying attention to”, says Dylan.
It’s important for people to focus on one niche. Whether they become successful or not they need to stick with it until they have given it a fair chance. THEN they should move on to another niche. First, start off in a non-Internet-marketing niche. Get your feet wet. Get some experience. When you have achieved some success and gaind some experience you can go back to the Internet marketing niche.
The key is to take action and focus. “Don’t over-analyze the situation.” It’s better to get a little understanding and just get started. Take small steps as you are learning. When you start to find some success, spend more time and money on what is working. Drop what is not working. You’ll neve learn if you don’t get started. “Don’t spend so much time trying to think of all the possible ways to be perfect”, says Dylan.
