No animal should be left abandoned or left to suffer and that is very true of the toy breed Pomeranian. If you know of a Pomeranian that is being abused or has been abandoned then get in touch with a Pomeranian rescue centre right away to give that little dog a second chance at a good life. Before you drop a dog off at a Pomeranian rescue centre however you may want to do a little research to make sure you are dropping it off into a situation that can help.

Make sure the rescue centre has a good relationship with a quality vet. It is extremely important that the little dog be given every chance it can to survive its ordeal and that is impossible without attention from a good vet. So find out what vet they deal with and make sure you are comfortable with it.

A reputation in the public’s eye is one of the best stamps of approval any Pomeranian rescue centre can have. Ask around about the Pomeranian rescue centre you are considering using and see what people think or if any of them have any experience using that particular rescue centre. Starting a rescue centre is a noble thing but if you are not doing a good job at helping the animals that are sent to you for rescue then you may be doing more harm than good.

Sometimes you may find that local Pomeranian breeders do not mind acting in the capacity of a Pomeranian rescue centre. Many reputable breeders do not want to see the little dogs suffer any more than you do and they will take them in and try to give them a second chance at a new home. So pick up the phone book and call around to the breeders in your area and see if any of them would be willing to help save a pet with you.

No Pomeranian rescue centre can do the job on their own so when you are talking to a rescue centre ask them how well they are networked with the other animal rescue groups in your area.

Talk to the Pomeranian rescue centre you are considering and make sure that they have the resources available, or the contacts necessary, to get the little dog the help it needs. If a rescue centre is trying to do things on their own then they are probably not going to be able to do a very good job.

Never let an animal suffer either from being abandoned or abused. If you know of a pet that is in trouble then make a few phone calls and get a hold of an animal rescue centre.

All you need to do is make sure that you are getting the dog into a situation that is going to make their journey better and not worse.
