Economic Ways to Build your Ideal Bathroom Share/Save/Bookmark

In the current critical state of economic depression, spending another fortune on renovating your bathroom is probably the last thing you’re thinking about. Having a comfortable, roomy place to decompress after a stressful day’s work is never a bad idea, yet when trying to pay off your mortgage and energy bills, a new bathroom is a luxury many of us cannot afford.

Bathroom renovation does not, however, have to be expensive. There are various cost-effective strategies one can use to create the bathroom you have always wanted, while still managing to minimize your expenditure. By looking at the different ways in which we can use mirrors, tiling, furniture, and paint in a financially advantageous manner, the bathroom of your dreams can, in fact, become a reality.

As various designers will point out, mirrors are very useful in creating an illusion of space. By placing full-length mirrors on opposite walls or on cupboard doors, a small bathroom can be made to look twice a large. The type of tiles and lighting you use can create a similar effect. By adopting big, warm lights, in addition to large-size tiles, your bathroom area can be made to look significantly bigger. Rather than spending excessive amounts of money on physically enlargening your bathroom, attempt to create an illusion of space instead.

If there is no sufficient physical space in which to place furniture, there are additional economic ways in which to create the room you desire. Fitted or built-in furniture is, for instance, a highly advantageous space-saver. Getting small wall cabinets instead of standing cupboards or cabinets are immensely effective for freeing up floor space. Additionally, placing wooden planks on the wall is an ideal way to store beauty products and towels without taking up floor space. Utilizing a room effectively is therefore essential for building the low-cost bathroom you want.

Choosing the appropriate colour of wallpaper or paint is very important, because colour is the largest contributing factor for creating the desired ambience of your environment. Painting a room yourself is the most economically advantageous way to directly influence the mood and design of your new bathroom.

Seeing as there is no ‘one way’ to decorate, it is up to you to decide the colour scheme based on what style you are looking for:

Soft and pale colour schemes (such as peach and beige) have a tendency to make a room look bigger, creating an illusion of space similar to mirrors.

To set a tone of peace and tranquillity, cool colours (such as sky blue and jade green) are the best options.

To create a cosy, comfortable atmosphere, warm and bright colours (such as ruby red, orange, or green apple) are advisable.

As the above suggestions exemplify, a bathroom renewal does not have to be overly costly. By replacing the furniture, adding mirrors, and giving the walls a lick of paint, there is no need for expensive professional designers or renovators, while still reaping the benefits of your ideal bathroom.
