Distressed hardwoods are becoming a popular hardwood kind among home owners. Distressed hardwood refers to hardwood that has been scraped. It is becoming popular owning to the aesthetic quality it has and adds to a home.

The purpose of distressed hardwood is to achieve a relatively well worn look in the home. Distressed hardwood consists of two types; the one that has been scraped by hand and the one that has been scraped using a machine.

Distressed hardwood that is lightly scraped is often complimentary of an aged decor look while those that are heavily scraped complement a rustic home setting.

There are many professionals out there who can distressed your hardwood in your home. Alternatively, you may decide to go for the ones that are already distressed in the market. Distressed hardwood floor is catching the attention of many home owners these days. It is quite possible to change the face of your hardwood floor compeltely by having it scraped. Its something you should consider for your home.
