In the poker business, we have seen a huge increase in activity recently. Entrepreneurs have made good profits during the increase in poker activity. We will show you the ways creative business people are making money because more people ae playing poker.

Before we talk about that, let’s see why poker has exploded. We saw 3 separate events that have led to the growth in poker activity. Now, in chronological order, these are the events that led to the growth in poker.

It all starts in 1994 when poker player Henry Orenstein invented, and patented, the technology for the the hole card camera. This allows viewers to know the hole cards of all of the players during TV replays. The beginning for “pocket cam” happened in 1997 on an English poker telecast.

Poker had been on TV since the 70’s, but it was a small audience. This was because not knowing what cards the players were working with, it was difficult to understand what the players tactics were. This new innovation made watching poker events on television very addictive.

The next event that contributed to the accelerated growth of poker was the advent of the online poker rooms. The original internet based poker room had players at the tables in 1998. Players can now play a game of poker in the friendly surroundings of virtually any place they can imagine. Web based poker action will see steady growth as players began using these new poker venues.

Now we’re ready for the final event that caused the boom. When Chris Moneymaker beats some of the top pros in the game to win the world series of poker Main Event in 2003, we see poker explode. Gaining his entry thru a $40 online poker room satellite, then capturing the title, sets off this unique boom.

The combination of the pocket cam creating a large audience viewing poker on television, and the surge of internet poker rooms broadening the player base, prepared us for the “Moneymaker” effect. Everyone seeing an online, rookie, capture the biggest title in all of poker, poker boomed.

The poker boom brings a vast amount of business opportunities for aggressive entrepreneurs. There are seemingly endless ways to make money in the booming world of poker. Many of these money making opportunities are online. Here are a few of the businesses you could succeed with in this growing industry.

Some poker amateurs have turned themselves into poker pros. A lot of internet business people have gotten extremely wealthy by acting as an affiliate for the online poker rooms. Books on poker strategy have become fabulous sellers.

Business people are producing software products that help online players in increasing the knowledge about their play from the games they play in. Some business people have invested in their very own online poker rooms. We even see live poker leagues being run at bars and meeting rooms in many areas of the country.

This are a few, but by no means all, of the various opportunities that business people are using to cash in on the accelerated growth of poker. Being in a poker business with a web based approach certainly appears to be the most promising. The future for poker still looks bright, and big money opportuities exist for those ambitious enough to get involved.
