In these times, almost everyone has asked themselves why they should buy a ringtone for their cell phone. Most people buy ring tones for their cell phones because they either do not like the cell phone ring tones that come pre-programmed on the cell phone or they like to have the diversity of a variety of ring tones on their phone and they can change the ring tones based upon their respective moods or based upon the individual caller that is calling.
Ringtones are gaining popularity. Almost every Artist has ringtones now.
Figure out whether the ring tone is a downloadable ring tone (which is rarely free) or if the ring tone is actually free. Most cell phones come with a set of ring tones that are already programmed into the cell phone and those are truly free. When you are researching the ringtones to determine if they are free, then please always look for the fine print. Often companies will state that the ring tones are free with a monthly subscription to their services - which obviously makes the ring tones not free.
Basically a ring tone is a small computer program that is downloaded into your cell phone. Often, this program is stored in your cell phone’s memory chip. Ring tones work when someone calls your phone and your cell phone’s microprocessor then guides the phone system on what to do - or which ring tone to initiate that alerts you as to an incoming phone call.
My favorite ring tone right now is the song from Nirvana called it smells like teen spirit.
