There is no wonder that more and more people are discovering how to make their own exfoliating body scrubs when you consider how many additives are in mass produced beauty treatments these days. The best thing about this is being able to select the ingredients yourself.
Most people who put together their own body scrub concoctions have realized that not only do they enjoy making them, but they can also earn a tidy profit on the side marketing their bath and body creations.
It is not difficult to learn how to make your own exfoliating body scrub. With just a few simple ingredients, you will be well on your way to making something unique and amazing, right in your own home.
Body scrubs invigorate your skin and remove the dead cells. Your skin also takes on a healthy glow but the overall effect the scrub will have on your skin is determined by the components you choose to use. The gentle exfoliating effects of olive and date seed powders are preferred by some whilst others tend to go for essential oils which sooth and add moisture to the skin.
Shown below is a basic salt scrub formula which you can try making at home.
Exfoliating Sea Salt Scrub
The ingredients you should use are as follows:
* lb of sea salt (its best to use fine or medium grains)
* 1oz of sunflower oil
* 3 ounces jojoba oil
* 2oz liquid soap base (unscented)
* 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint essential oil
* 1/4 teaspoon blood orange essential oil
* 2 teaspoons dried raspberry seeds
Mix all of the above in a bowl and then place in a suitable container.
The listed essential oils can be substituted by other oils such as grapefruit, jasmine, lavender and sandalwood.
