Preventing Cold Sores - When You Cannot Afford a Cold Sore

Preventing cold sores, fever blisters and oral herpes was once unknown, but now is very easy. If you have a minute, I will share this proven way you can be using this minute for preventing cold sores.

Preventing cold sores (same as oral herpes or fever blisters) is as easy as taking a daily top-shelf vitamin and mineral supplement. Quite honestly, many folks find nothing more is needed.

Hard to believe you say? I know exactly what you mean. If it works so well, why do so many cold sore victims still not know about it? Trust me - many smart people are preventing cold sores everyday with this one method alone.

In just a second I will explain more about how using vitamin pills for preventing cold sores can really work. First, though, we should review what actually causes a cold sore.

If you have oral herpes, fever blister or cold sore outbreaks, you were infected by the herpes simplex virus at some earlier point in your life. 89% of the world population is infected with this virus. Usually this happens before our tenth birthday.

Usually the herpes virus is hibernating in the facial nerve roots - commonly called the nerve ganglia. When it senses an immune system weakness, it will travel to the surface to create new virus. This replication process creates the visible sore.

Our body will create targeted immune soldiers, called anti-bodies, whenever we are invaded by an active virus. Each cold sore outbreak will cause our body to build more fresh anti-bodies targeting the herpes virus.

If the correct nutrients are available, these anti-bodies will be a strong force in preventing cold sores. Without the needed nutrients, the anti-bodies will be weak and ineffective for preventing cold sores.

The nutrients you need for preventing cold sores can be provided by a high quality vitamin and mineral supplement. Nutrients that have a great impact on oral herpes are vitamins B, C, D, and E. Minerals that are critical are magnesium, calcium, and zinc.

Recent studies now show that calcium deficiency is common in those who have frequent cold sores. Calcium is big against oral herpes, cold sores and fever blisters. Calcium keeps the body alkaline. No virus can get a foothold in an alkaline environment.

The anti-stress vitamins B and C are very important in reducing the effects of daily stress on our bodies. Stress weakens the immune system and is the primary cause of cold sore episodes.

Scientists have shown recently that it would take 59 ounces of spinach today to equal the nutrients in one ounce of 1950 spinach. Tomatoes were found to have only half the nutrients they once did. Our bodies are literally starving.

Today, we just cannot eat enough to effectively provide our body with the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to build a strong immune system and enjoy optimum health. The herpes simplex virus is just one of many viruses out of control right now.

Preventing cold sores requires us to provide our system the nutrients it needs to form powerful antibodies. Organically grown foods are usually much higher in nutrients. But this, too, will not provide the actual quantity your body needs.

Getting additional vitamins and minerals through daily intake of supplements is one of the easiest and most effective ways of preventing cold sores. It will give your body what it needs for a strong cold sore defense system.

If you suffer a lot of cold sore events, than give this a try. There are other things you can be doing, but this should be the first method you use for preventing cold sores.
